Doctors advice us to eat fruits and vegetables for the benefits they have in our body, but not everyone knows that, although vegetables can be taken at any time of the day, in the case of fruits you have to know how, how much and when to eat them:
. - It should be consumed  alone cause with other foods slows down digestion and ferments and rots.
.
- Eat them ripe and freshly cut. If they have some time cut and without consuming loses properties.
. - If it is not organic, it is preferable to remove the skin.
. - Do not exceed three fruits per day for the fructose content.
. 
You know how, so eat fruit. Preferably berries if you are trying to lose weight. Cheers!

You can spread scabies through sex or with prolonged skin to skin contact (usually 10 minutes or more).⠀

If you have kids that sleep in the same bed they could share it 🛌⠀

The mite can live for 2-3 days without a human host.⠀

So technically, you could spread it by using towels, clothing and bedding as well 👀⠀

You see scabies in areas where there’s a lot of people like prisons, nursing homes, schools, etc.⠀

It’s NOT caused by poor hygiene, contrary to popular belief ✅⠀

We treat it with a cream rinse that you apply to your whole body then wash off.⠀

I had a lot of fun the past 2 weeks, between a Caribbean cruise 🍹and graduation🍾. Getting back to the gym was rough. I was sweating a little harder, my muscles felt a little tighter, and the weight felt a little heavier. I felt like a fat pig 🐖. Then the owner of the gym came up to me and said "Just wanted to say keep up the good work. You're doing a great job in here." We are our own worst critics. Your bad day is still better than someone else who is sitting on the couch. Take some time to enjoy life but dont let a setback make you give up. Keep trying every day!

It is quite common in #westernculture these days for people to eat 3 meals per day with snacks throughout. Consider humans hundreds of years ago — hunting and foraging. Humans would go days or even weeks without eating!! They did not have access to #costco During this era there was little evidence of #obesity, #heartattacks, #diabetes, #cancer, #autoimmunity, etc — coincidence? When we fast, our body uses its energy stores - which is a protective mechanism for survival & resilience.

☑️Weight loss
☑️Blood sugar regulation (decrease in serum insulin, HbA1C, fasting glucose) - ☑️Improvement in blood pressure

🧐How many hours of fasting is recommended? 14-16 hours show the most benefit. Example of 16-hour fast: Eat from 7am-3pm; #fasting from 3pm - 7am the next day. 🧐Everyday? Ok I felt I couldn’t finish my wellness series without addressing the latest craze. There’s a running joke that essential oils are now  touted as the cure for everything from migraines, depression to cancer...what’s the EVIDENCE?🙄

So on one hand: there ARE actually some small studies about essential oil aromatherapy for certain conditions like anxiety, depression, insomnia. I’ve recommended lavender for insomnia in the past, and tea tree oil drops in water to help with foot fungus for example. •

But on the other hand...I’m seeing such an overload of claims for essential oils as the cure for everything, it’s verging into fad/quackery territory. And I always have to remind people that just because something is NATURAL, doesn’t mean it is SAFE!! 🗣🗣🗣

Essential oils are also potential chemical irritants , and endocrine disrupters (meaning they can change hormones) . They can cause:

Wouldn’t it be great if instead of just coming up with new treatments for eczema, we could stop it developing in the first place? .

Several small studies have shown that the use of emollient (moisturiser) in newborn babies may do just that. There is currently a huge trial underway called ‘The BEEP study’ (Barrier Enhancement for Eczema Prevention) looking into this on a large scale.  The small pilot study was suggestive that it may. .

This large study data should really give us an idea as to whether eczema can be prevented in some at risk infants purely through the use of  daily moisturiser for the first six months of life. .
.
In the meantime, it is a safe & relatively easy thing to do, so definitely worth considering using moisturiser (ideally paraffin based - but beware, paraffin is flammable) to your newborn, especially if there is a family history of eczema. .

Today’s top tip is about how to apply moisturiser.  It is recommended to apply moisturiser within 3 minutes or a bath or shower, after the skin has been patted dry. During a soak, the skin absorbs moisture into the top layer of the skin, the stratum corneum. Applying moisturiser to partly wet skin seems to seal in some of this absorbed moisture, which is ultimately the name of the game. This is particularly beneficial to people who have inflammatory skin conditions like eczema & psoriasis; but still applies to all. This technique is also thought to enhance drug absorption, so if you are using medicated topical treatment then the effects of this could be improved by applying shortly after a bath or shower. .

Serotonin is a major neurotransmitter dubbed the “happy molecule” for the role it plays in maintaining a positive mood. It’s a chemical messenger for all living cells”, which is also known as 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT), acts both as neurotransmitter and hormone and is mainly found in the brain, gut and blood platelets. Optimal Serotonin level is the key to wellbeing as It helps to regulate mood, sleep and appetite. Both high and low levels of serotonin have harmful effect.
